As more zero-emission cars hit the roads, we’re delving into the history of electric vehicles to find out where they have come from and where they are heading in the future. 

This year Lookers is taking on an epic 2,000 mile all electric-vehicle journey from Northern Ireland, over to Scotland and down through England. During this all-electric tour, Lookers employees have driven a wide range of electric vehicles and have been embracing what the future of motor vehicles holds.

Generally thought of as a modern concept, electric vehicles have been around for over 100 years and were even more valuable than petrol vehicles back in 1900! Electric vehicles also hold a few more unique records. The first car to reach 100 km/h? Electric. The first vehicle to drive on the moon? You guessed it, it was electric.

So without further ado, let’s take a look at the weird and wonderful history of electric vehicles.
